The Richard Hale Association is pleased to announce the publication of Richard Gander’s remarkable history of the school in Hertford founded 1617.
Richard Hale School is a beautifully written and well illustrated account of Hertford’s remarkable 390 year old educational establishment originally called Hertford Grammar School. The large A4 hardback format fills over 200 pages and includes illustrations of documents, portraits and events.
Sections cover each of the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries with thirty chapters on events and characters including Ralph Minors and The White Gloves ceremony. There is also a school chronicle, primary sources,
the school archives, twenty-four appendices, footnotes and index.
Books are available from the School at a cost of £24.00. They are available for collection from the school, or can be posted (at an additional cost of £4.50).
