Who was Page?
Page is named after Lieutenant Colonel Francis Page. He was born in 1880 and attended this school. He died during a battle in the First World War in 1917. As his body was never found, his name is carved on the Menin Gate in Ypres. He was Mayor of Hertford in 1912 and was well respected in the local area. A House was named after him as a memorial not just to him but to all the Old Boys of the school who lost their lives in the Great War.
Mr Jones, Head of Page, says:
I am delighted to have the privilege of heading up Page House. I am excited to see what impact I can have on the year ahead and in future years to come. It is my aim to build a unity amongst Page House that outlives its current members and create memories that our students cherish forever.
I hope to enthuse and motivate students from all pillars of Richard Hale and wish to instil pride passion and community amongst Page House. I truly believe the importance of what the Hale House System has to offer, as it broadens the experience of our student’s time within our school. Let’s thrive off each other, let’s build a reputation and let’s grow outside our comfort zones. Together. As one.
My goal is to work on students taking ownership of their roles and responsibilities and understand what it means to represent Page House. I expect us to compete in healthy competition, but to form an identity of fair play, honour and togetherness.
